Department of Care for the Elderly and Disabled

Department of Care for the Elderly and Disabled deals with social and health related matters connected with senior citizens and disabled residents. The main aim of this department is to create a safe environment and quality of life for those residents of the Municipality who need help to be able to help themselves.

The department is divided into three service areas; Social Care Assesment, Senior Citizens and Disabled Citizens.

Social Care Assesment deals with the area related to the granting of social benefits to senior citizens and to adult disabled.

Senior Citizens is responsible for executing such tasks relating to senior citizens as arranging home-care, district nursing, training and activities, cleaning, meals services and providing practical aids and appliances.

Disabled Citizens provides daytime and 24-hour care possibilities and can help with support, contact and companions together with employment and spare-time possibilities for young, adult and older residents who are disabled.
