Department of Family and Employment

The aim of this department is to ensure that the residents of the Municipality of Aalborg have the possibility to enjoy a good quality of life. Here there is a special focus on preventative initiatives.

Department of Family and Employment consists of three service areas; Children and Family, Social Services, and Job Centre Aalborg.

Children and Family is responsible for the care of the municipality’s 0-5 year old children, dental health and daytime and 24-hour care for children and young people with social problems or who are disabled. This service area also includes family therapy and placements.

Social Services is the service area which is responsible, among other things, for social benefits payments. The main aim of Social Services is to help to improve conditions for people with problems, helping them to a higher degree of quality and dignity in their lives. This would include, for example, people who can be described as social outcasts, and homeless people.

Job Centre Aalborg takes care of employment initiatives in the area and works for a broader job market.
